Кultural exchanges between Russia and China have a long and rich history, stretching back centuries. These interactions have proven to be particularly significant in shaping the cultural landscapes of both nations. In today's globalized world, the relevance of cultural exchanges is more pronounced than ever. As nations strive for mutual understanding and cooperation, exploring the historical context and the dynamics of these exchanges becomes crucial not only for cultural enrichment but also for fostering diplomatic ties and economic relationships.

The main aim of this research project is to analyze the cultural exchanges between Russia and China, focusing on their historical foundations, contemporary significance, and future prospects. By examining how these exchanges have evolved over time, we hope to uncover the deeper meanings and implications of cultural interactions, shedding light on how they influence societal attitudes and foster connections between peoples.

To achieve this goal, we will pursue several research tasks. First, we will provide a historical overview of cultural exchanges between the two countries, highlighting key moments and influences, such as the Silk Road. Secondly, we will identify the economic, political, and social factors that have facilitated these exchanges. We will also analyze the adaptation and interpretation of Chinese symbols in Russian culture, particularly during the 18th and 19th centuries. Finally, we will explore modern initiatives aimed at promoting cultural cooperation and the role of technology in facilitating these exchanges.

The central problem this research addresses is the challenge of understanding how historical cultural exchanges have shaped contemporary perceptions and interactions between Russia and China. Despite the long-standing ties, cultural misunderstandings and stereotypes persist, which can hinder cooperation. By investigating historical patterns and their impacts, we hope to contribute to a more nuanced understanding of current relations.

The object of this study includes the traditional Chinese symbols and their representation within the context of Russian culture, from the architecture of the Moscow Tea House to various artistic forms in Russia. We aim to assess how these symbols were not just adopted but transformed in their new cultural environment.

The subject of the research revolves around the process of cultural adaptation and reinterpretation of Chinese symbols within Russian cultural practices. In particular, we will look at how these symbols have been integrated into the visual arts, literature, and everyday life.

We hypothesize that the reinterpretation of Chinese symbols in Russia reflects deeper cultural dynamics that can either bridge or exacerbate misunderstandings between the two nations.
